The McConnell Foundation is an independent foundation located in Redding, California. As a Northern California broad-based funder, grants have been awarded to 501(3)(c) nonprofit organizations, public education institutions, and government entities.
The Foundation began making grants in 1989 and has provided funding for projects in the areas of Arts & Culture, Community Vitality, Recreation, Social Services, and the Environment. Current areas of emphasis are Children, Youth & Education; Sustainable/Livable Communities; Scholarships; and our long-standing NatureBridge at Yosemite Program (formerly known as Yosemite Institute). In 1999, the Foundation began funding international projects in Nepal, and now provides funding for targeted projects in the country of Laos as well.
Currently, grant applications and requests for funding are not accepted directly by The McConnell Foundation. Under a partnership with the Shasta Regional Community Foundation, The McConnell Foundation continues to promote philanthropy in Shasta, Siskiyou, Trinity, Tehama, and Modoc counties. The McConnell Fund at the Shasta Regional Community Foundation accepts requests for projects up to $50,000. The Community Foundation independently administers this fund on behalf of The McConnell Foundation and we are not directly involved with the grants made.
