Sharing Downtown E-Bikeshare updates with Shasta Regional Transportation Agency (SRTA)

Shasta Regional Transportation Agency (SRTA) studies the region’s transportation needs, pursues potential funding sources, and determines what improvements will be made in our region.  These choices directly impact the daily lives of Shasta County’s residents in a number of ways, including economic development opportunities, environmental quality, public health and safety, access to transportation choices, and the cost of travel.

Today, The McConnell Foundation and Shasta Living Streets shared downtown updates about the progress toward a new active transportation option: Downtown E-Bikeshare! Shasta Regional Transportation Agency played an important role in supporting the early stage development of bikeshare through their leadership of Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction calculations for this form of active transportation, as well as setting the policy vision for such a program through their Sustainable Communities Strategy.
