Alongside organizations such as the James Irvine Foundation, Central Valley Community Foundation, and California Forward, The McConnell Foundation has officially joined CalOZ. CalOZ is dedicated to maximizing the transformative potential of Opportunity Zones (OZs) in California.

In Spring of 2019, The McConnell Foundation hosted a meeting in Redding with local developers, investors, municipal leaders etc…we were surprised that 130+ people showed up, even in our rural-ish part of the state. Here are some highlights to recap the experience so far:

Downtown Redding has a designated Opportunity Zone, so it the financing mechanism of OZs is important to track closely.
